Monday Madness

Sitting at my desk I was desperately trying to complete a report that was fairly difficult. I started a new position at work and I’m learning/working so it’s taking me longer to get through assignments.

While pulling my hair out on this alone Aaron asked me to fix “Abby”. Abby is a stuffed…well used to be stuffed…bunny rabbit. Isaiah tried to throw it in the trash earlier because the stuffing was spewing out of its neck. Continue reading

How To Communicate With Your Spouse

It is easy to find books on improving communication within a marriage. I’ve read a TON of books on becoming a better wife, better mom, etc. but it wasn’t until a friend let me borrow this book that I made some serious progress.waffles-spaghetti

The analogy is so simple but it opened my eyes to more of who men are in general. They really just don’t THINK!

Ok let me clarify this before I get in trouble 😉 Continue reading

“Here We Are” Nathan Mellix

My husband just released a compilation album titled “Let’s Go In” on April 8th with Nicole White & Michael Durant. Here’s a link to Nathan’s song “Here We Are”. The project sounds AMAZING and I know it’s going to minister to so many people. I’m incredibly proud of him.

Sony Cyber-Shot Camera

My husband bought me a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H300 for Christmas! I take a TON of photos on my Samsung Galaxy but recently I have been talking about how wonderful it would be to have a better way to take quality pictures.

It’s not often that I am genuinely surprised with a gift. I am one of those people that track things by the bank account.

Where were you? No, you got gas on Hwy XXX at 4:00 PM…so….Where were you really? 🙂

I don’t know how he did it but I’m very grateful. It was the perfect Christmas present!

It’s a lot more complicated than my smart phone of course but I’m learning fairly quickly about all the neat features.

Here are some of my favorites so far:

My Big Thumb Toe

I was sitting down on my dining room floor surrounded by mountains of dirty clothes. I mustered up the energy to drag it all out of the laundry room in an effort to sort by category like normal moms. The outer layer of my cage was an assortment of baskets. The laundry needed to be done and I was not motivated.

Me: “Hey babe…you know what would be so great right now?”

Husband: “What?”

Me: “Something sweet…how about a hot fudge ice cream sundae from Culvers?”

Husband: “Sure.”

Motivation = ice cream     Culvers = closes in 45 minutes

Action plan: Speed sort the laundry Continue reading

How Not to Write Gospel Piano Chords

Last night my husband asked me to take down notes for a song he’s learning on the piano. He plays by ear. He listened to “Healing” by Richard Smallwood on YouTube and called out the notes for each part.

After church he went to find my notes so he could practice.
